Going beyond our limits

The Fédération Cynologique Internationale is a truly global organisation and, as well as working towards a collective goal, it operates as a body where people can meet with the shared aim of exchanging ideas and experiences but without paying the slightest attention to their cultural, geographical, political or religious differences. We come together under the banner of the Fédération Cynologique Internationale to protect all dogs equally, no matter where they come from or where on Earth they live.

The Philippine Circuit 2014 – A thrilla in Manila

The dates were 23-26 January 2014. This was the biggest show the Philippine Canine Club had organised in its 51 years of existence. We invited 18 judges from all over the world which included the FCI President, Rafael de Santiago, the FCI VP Gerard Jipping, the FCI Treasurer, Carla Molinari and FCI General Committee Member, Miguel Ángel Martínez who were assigned to judge the BEST IN SHOW for each of the four FCI CACIB Shows.

Our stellar panel of judges which also included the likes of Desmond Murphy, Cristian Stefanescu, Andrew Brace, Denis Kuzelj, Dorota Witkowska, Tatyan Urek, William Rodríguez, D. Krishnamurthy and many others, attracted exhibitors from all over the world and this created a very “international” atmosphere. The shows were held at the Exhibition Hall of the SM MegaMall which is located in the heart of the busy Metro Manila.

From Thursday to Sunday, we started at 10 a.m. and ended at 10n p.m. The whole exhibition hall was packed with dogs, exhibitors, owners and families who just wanted to see the hundreds of different breeds at the venue.

The first day of the FCI show was judged by Miguel Ángel Martínez from Argentina and his Best In Show went to a Dobermann from the United States named AM GR CH PROTOCOL'S VENI VIDI VICI or “FIFI” as she is known worldwide. The second day’s Best in Show was judged by Gerard Jipping and his winner was a Siberian Husky named PHIL/AM GR CH BRITESTARS JAMESONS WHISKEY who resides in the Philippines and was bred in the USA. The third day’s Best in Show was judged by Carla Molinari and her top dog was a Scottish Terrier INT,NL,DK,VDH CH LUCIA'S DREAM STEVIE WONDERFUL whose agents come from Thailand. The penultimate day’s Best in Show was judged by the FCI President, Rafael de Santiago, who chose an Alaskan Malamute named PHIL GR/PAK/LKA/TWN CH WOLFHOLIC'S EXTRAORDINARY (KR) which was bred in Korea and now resides in the Philippines.

The Philippine Circuit has definitely become a show to be reckoned with in Asia. We at PCCI hope to see many of you in our Philippine Circuit 2015.
